When they're staring you in the face, bosses often find it difficult to put their opinions into words.

For each of these commonly used EXECUTIVE phrases,

See if you can figure out what the real takeaway is.

A) You're doing fine - I have no idea what to tell you. There are things that I could bring up, but I don't have the guts to do it.

B) Some aspects of your performance need attention - I'm really pissed at lots of stuff you do, but I'm trying to be even about it so you don't get in my face and spoil my mood.

C) I'm very dissatisfied with certain things - I have nothing more to say and I want you to like me. Now get out of here. Please.

D) I hope you take this right way - I'm going to hurt you now and really enjoy it.

E) You need to take more initiative - I would like you to do more of my job for me so I can take a nap every afternoon.

F) You don't communicate as well as you should - I don't communicate as well as I should. You have to take the initiative with me.

G) Keep up the good work - I have nothing more to say and I want you to like me. Now get out of here. Please.
